AGS Electronics is evolving following a takeover by Testworks Group. The Dunfermline electronics business is expanding with plans to take on more staff and to grow into neighbouring premises.

Alistar Williamson, Business Manager for AGS Electronics, said: “Being part of a bigger group is bringing new opportunities. We’ve plans to expand our facilities and take on four new employees. This will enable us to meet demand and service new contracts.”

AGS has recently secured sizeable contracts to develop prototypes for two Scottish-based companies operating in totally different sectors. It’s showing its expertise in product development having created a device to detect hazardous chemicals and air pollution in beer cellars; as well as a prototype solar powered data collector, for the farming industry. The latter device, designed by a Perthshire software company, will enable real-time monitoring of livestock by farmers from the comfort of their farmhouse. Five samples have been sent to Spain for testing, and if successful, AGS expects it to bring about further business opportunities.
