Carol Ann Brown has come a long way from starting her journey as a massage/spa therapist at the Old Course Hotel in St Andrews back in 2005. 

Since then, she has travelled the world with Virgin Atlantic as an in-flight beauty therapist and working at Virgin’s Limited Edition in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco before becoming a spa manager in Switzerland, working on super yachts, gaining experience in Australia and New Zealand and latterly as an international training manager, training therapists all over the world.

Dunnikier Park Community Golf in Kirkcaldy has published its second Trustees Report detailing a tremendous year of activity and development.  The charity, founded by Martin Christie, president and former captain of Dunnikier Park Golf Club, introduced park golf or gowf to Kirkcaldy in 2022.  This simple and safe form of golf, which only requires one club and a ball originated from Japan in 1983 and is growing in popularity across the globe.

If you tune in to BBC Radio 4 at 4:30pm this Christmas Eve (Sunday 24th December) you will hear the work of local audio producer Lewis Harrower. Having started off his studies in Radio at Fife College, Lewis went on to achieve an MA in Radio Production. Now he has worked with Soundscape Productions on this fun and upbeat documentary. The piece features presenters Julie Fowlis and Karine Polwart alongside other Scottish musicians and poets.

The business, run by Iain Matthew, started in April of this year, after the previous owners of Phoenix Decorating Services retired. 

After many discussions over the years, prior to the buyout, it was agreed that Iain would join the company to see how they did things, but more importantly, to start networking with the clients.

Pratis Barns, the family run, luxury events venue based near Leven, has won the Fife & Tayside Venues award at the prestigious Your Scottish Wedding Awards (YSWA) which took place in November. Their commitment to sustainability and dedication to their guests won over the judges to beat the other nominees in their category.

Nicola and Patrick Gilmour, owners of Pratis Barns had one simple goal when they purchased the venue in 2019: to make weddings easier to manage for their couples and create a venue where much of the service was provided ‘in-house’.
