NEW DEAL IS PITCH PERFECT FOR FIFE BUSINESS CLUISTROM

A Fife business which specialises in the supply of custom moulded and filtered hearing protection has signed an exclusive deal with a leading chain of opticians.

CluisTROM will now supply Black & Lizars Optometrists’ 21 stores with exclusive hearing aids, Bluetooth hearing aid glasses and custom hearing protection products.

The company, which has been helped by Business Gateway Fife, now adds the leading optometrists to its illustrious list of clients that include: Haribo, the Ministry of Defence, Scottish Power, General Electric, Siemens and BAE Systems.

CAFÉ PROVIDES A STROKE OF GENIUS FOR LOCAL GALLERY

Challenging trading conditions gave Karen Edwards the inspiration she needed to diversify her business which is now set to launch its own range of food and a new ceramics collection.

Following the closure of a number of high street businesses in Pittenweem last year, Karen used advice from Business Gateway Fife to secure almost £2k from the Fife Council Economic Development’s Town Centre Business Support Fund to create a café within her gallery, Funky Scottish, last August.

FUNDING PROJECT TO REVITALISE FIFE’S HIGH STREETS AWARDS 100TH GRANT

A butcher has become the 100th enterprise to benefit from a funding campaign that has invested over £200k to help revitalise and support businesses based on Fife’s High Streets.

Leuchars Quality Meats, which has a shop in Leuchars and another in Newport, has received £4.5k from the Town Centre Business Support Fund administered by Business Gateway Fife on behalf of Fife Council’s Town Centre Development Unit.

The recently opened The Bruery in Dunfermline has created a new chapter in Fife’s brewing history and a new venture for David Austin, owner and manager of Reubens Café and Wine Store.

“I wanted to add a local beer to our wine store so contacted brewer, Douglas Ross, for help. It took just six weeks from that initial thought to the first bottle.
