A Fife IT & Telecoms company has more than doubled its staff numbers in less than 18 months after securing a raft of new business that has helped increase its turnover by 69%.

Dunfermline-based Exactive, which has received advice from Business Gateway Fife, saw its annual turnover hit £1.4m in April after securing contracts with the likes of Scottish Government, Chivas Regal and Scottish Borders Council.

Business Gateway Helps Thriving Social Enterprise

Business is booming for a Fife social enterprise which helped divert over 800 tonnes of furniture and electrical goods from landfill last year.

Furniture Plus, a charity-based reuse and recycle organisation, also undertook 7,500 collections throughout Fife and saw sales remain steady at around £500,000.

Now the enterprise, which has been helped by Business Gateway Fife, plans to further develop its training programme and open an IT suite by this summer at its Dysart base, as well as transfer its Inverkeithing warehouse and shop to Dunfermline by the end of the year.

SalesMap, a web based sales process application with coaching and mentoring support, has been developed by Bruce Hamilton to help companies become more disciplined and successful at selling.

After securing funds through Business Gateway Fife, the sales coach and mentor who has held senior sales positions with the likes of Rank Xerox, Canon, Telewest and Microgen, launched the application in May.
