Inverkeithing Heritage Regeneration Project appoints mentors

The Inverkeithing Heritage Regeneration project has appointed two new mentors to work on a one-to-one basis with individuals, small or medium-sized enterprises, working in Fife, wishing to develop traditional skills in their workforce.

Mentoring costs will be met by the project, in the interests of increasing the numbers of contractors able to appropriately maintain and repair the outstanding heritage of listed buildings and conservation areas in Fife. The mentors are:

Puddledub has relocated to bigger premises on Kirkcaldy’s High Street, following the success of its pop-up butchers in the town. 
 
Shoppers will be able to enjoy locally sourced PGI Scotch Beef, lamb, charcuterie as well as Puddledub’s award-winning bacon and sausages, made from pork from its farm just four miles away. 
 
The restored 130-year-old shop at 71 High Street, designed by the UK's leading food retail designers HK Interiors, will also stock locally grown fruit and vegetables, and other handcrafted artisanal products.

Funding Secured to Promote Food and Drink Along the Fife Coastal Path

£18,000 of funding has been secured to promote food and drink along the Fife Coastal Path as part of VisitScotland’s Destination & Sector Marketing Fund.

The project, which is being managed by regional food group, Food from Fife, focuses on promoting the popular path through digital marketing and targeted social media campaigns. The project is run with the support of Fife’s six local tourist associations, Fife Coast & Countryside Trust and Fife Council’s tourism team.

East Neuk Salt Harvesting Success

Fife couple, Darren and Mhairi Pettie, fulfilled a dream when they created the St Monans based East Neuk Salt Co. The idea came to mind in 2019 while walking in the coastal village’s historic salt pans. There, the seed was planted for them to produce their own hand harvested sea salt.
 
Over the last couple of years, Darren has sourced equipment from all over Europe from the Netherlands to Italy.
