Sixth Fife Business Week Announced

Business Gateway Fife are delighted to be delivering the sixth Fife Business Week

Depute Council Leader Councillor Lesley Laird, Spokesperson for Economy and Planning visited Itek Systems Management in Glenrothes to announce that Fife Business Week is in its  sixth year and will take place between 9th and 13th November 2015. The annual Fife Business Week has attracted wide support from local businesses and partner organisations through a programme of workshops, seminars and networking sessions. Cllr Laird announced that the 2015 Week would be the most comprehensive line-up yet with events addressing key strategic issues for the Fife economy.

Managed by Business Gateway Fife on behalf of Fife Council Economic Development, the initiative aims to help support Fife businesses whilst making Fife the best place to do business.

Cllr Laird said: “This year’s Fife Business Week is focused on the changing business environment and offers valuable insight into issues affecting all companies and sectors from workforce development, managing business finance and strategy and digital connectivity. Each year Fife Business Week has offered stimulating programmes of events and we have seen skills developed and collaborative relationships built. This year we hope to build on that and support new entrepreneurs and established businesses looking for a new stage of growth move into 2016 with a new vigour.”

The Fife Business Week 2015 programme reflects the key issues of business - employability and training, communicating with customers on social media platforms, tourism, business finance and strategy and a Meet the Buyer event to highlight forthcoming opportunities. Events take place across Fife and the vast majority are free to attend.

Cllr Laird also thanked the business support partners who will run the events during the week.  She said, “Fife Council and the Fife Economy Partnership are ambitious to see the local economy flourish and we are grateful to our partners for their support during Fife Business Week. They will run an informative line-up of events to share their knowledge and expertise.  Local businesses will also see the range of public and private sector support agencies, business experts and entrepreneurs keen to help them move their businesses forward.”
