Wednesday 18 January 2017
Dunfermline, Scotland – On 24th January the Scottish SME Tree of Knowledge are celebrating huge milestone in the company history – 1 million of Scotland's young people will have attended a Tree of Knowledge workshop since the company was founded in 2001.
Tree of Knowledge currently provide tailored motivational workshops and employability programmes to 25% of Scottish schools, including work around Developing Scotland’s Young Workforce and The Scottish Attainment Challenge.
This achievement is particularly relevant in the current climate where young people report feeling ‘anxious and daunted’, as a recently published UK-wide survey for The Prince's Trust suggests. The work Tree of Knowledge do inspires pupils to go to school, work hard and aim high in their academic, personal and professional lives.
Gavin Oattes, MD said: “We are unbelievably proud to be based in Scotland. The heart and soul of our business lies in schools across Scotland helping young people to help themselves. We want to make a difference to the world we live in and to do so, we believe we need to encourage, empower and motivate forthcoming generations.”
Louise Moir, Head Teacher at Mackie Academy at Stonehaven commented on the excellent work the company does: “[Tree of Knowledge] provide a different approach to a key part of the curriculum, which is developing the skills of our young people to make them resilient learners as part of the workforce for the future.”
The celebration event will take place at Levenmouth Academy, Methilhaven Rd, Buckhaven, Leven KY8 1EA at 13:10 on Tuesday 24th January 2017.
