Scottish Government Issues Guidance for Moving Out of Lockdown

Wednesday 27 May 2020

The Scottish Government has unveiled new sector-specific guidance for companies to consider how people can safely return to work as it looks forward to its phased approach to moving out of lockdown. The documents have been developed in conjunction with businesses, trade unions and regulators. They provide advice on essential equipment, services and measures needed to create the conditions for safer workplaces. The government expects companies to undertake a robust risk management approach that has been developed and maintained through joint working with employees.  However, the Economy Secretary added that “Guidance on its own, will not create safe working environments. We continue to work closely with the key enforcement agencies – the Health and Safety Executive, local authorities and Police Scotland – to ensure a joined up approach to the enforcement and monitoring of workplace public health measures.” Click on the links below to access the guidance now Manufacturing Sector Guidance Retail Sector Guidance Construction Sector Guidance Forestry Sector Guidance Food Sector Guidance Tourism Sector Guidance - expected 18th June
