Pitreavie Group - Scotland's Largest Packaging Supplier

The Pitreavie Group has developed its business over the past seven years to become the largest independent packaging solutions and industrial supplies company in Scotland. 

Its expansion is a result of strong organic growth and targeted acquisitions, including Andersons Packaging and Sorba-Freeze. Its most recent acquisition of SNAPCO, a Glasgow-based Industrial Supplies business, has boosted turnover to almost £10 million. 

The Group’s focus on providing customers with a comprehensive packaging solution includes its “stock and serve” facility, where customer’s stock is physically held and available for same day/next day delivery and only invoiced upon delivery. This enables its customers to benefit from large economies of scale and an efficient delivery service, which is provided completely by Pitreavie’s own fleet of vehicles. 

Significant investments have been made in plant and machinery to further enhance Sorba-Freeze’s range of chilled packaging solutions with more investment planned. It has also invested group-wide in IT and business systems as well as expanding its workforce to over 60 staff including a number of key senior appointments to drive the company forward. Internationalisation is also high on the agenda, with major distribution opportunities being agreed in Northern Europe and America for the Sorba-Freeze business with more territories being explored.
