North East Fife Physiotherapist bringing Structural Harmony

Based in Fife, Jane Torvaney has over 30 years’ experience as a Chartered Physiotherapist working throughout the UK in a variety of settings and specialities. She has a deep respect and love for the body and brings with her a great understanding of how the body can work optimally as a whole to support it to heal.

For the last five years, she has been working from her Structural Harmony clinic at home in Tayport.  During the pandemic, there was an immediate downturn in her business.  She reached out to Business Gateway Fife and her adviser, Alasdair Busby, was able to guide and support her through a difficult time.  Alasdair secured her Expert Help from Gerry Burke for video creation and John Taylor for Digital Boost to design a digital strategy for the business to create online training courses.

Jane said: “Alasdair was the greatest support to me when Covid stopped all work coming through the door.  It was a difficult time when I couldn’t do physio, so I started another company making cashmere wrist warmers and selling through the Etsy platform.  Alasdair was able to signpost me to other like-minded people which was a real boost.

“Having been able to utilise the skills I received from Gerry and John, creating online courses and recording box sets of classes, have all been quite incredible.  I have now delivered online courses across seven time zones from Canada and the US to Australia and New Zealand, at the same time. I also have been able to return to my physiotherapy face to face sessions. I am so grateful to Alasdair for all his support because in these difficult times, it’s so important for someone to have your back.”
