Fife Joinery Manufacturing, Business Open Day—Thursday 22nd January, 2015

Tuesday 2 December 2014

“A Unique Opportunity to Tour the Facilities and Meet the Employees”

As the result of a strategic review of its manufacturing and logistics functions across Europe, the VELUX Group, manufacturer of energy-efficient roof windows and skylights to the world market, announced the closure of its Glenrothes operations (Fife Joinery Manufacturing) over the next 12 months.  Unfortunately, this will result in the loss of approximately 180 manufacturing and distribution jobs.

Fife Joinery Manufacturing prides itself on having a highly-skilled and competent workforce with transferrable knowledge capabilities that all employers look for and value. Their primary concern at this time is to support affected employees, working closely with relevant agencies to offer guidance and support in addition to redeployment or relocated employment opportunities where possible.

With this in mind, Fife Joinery Manufacturing, supported by Fife Council Economic Development, is hosting a Business Open Day.  An opportunity for interested stakeholders to come along to one of the dedicated tours on Thursday, 22nd January, 2015 at (8.00am—11.30am—2.00pm).  Meet with the employees, tour the facilities, view the plant and premises that may potentially be available for acquisition.
