A Fife tax advisor has been awarded the highest level of tax qualification in the UK.
Liz Goldie, Tax Manager in the Cupar office of EQ Chartered Accountants, has passed the prestigious Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT) exams, qualifying as a Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA). The CIOT is the leading professional body in the UK for advisors dealing with all aspects of taxation.
Liz will bring EQ’s total number of Chartered Tax Advisors to six, with the team spread across the firm’s four offices in Cupar, Dundee, Forfar and Glenrothes.
Having joined EQ as an Accountancy and Finance graduate from Abertay University in 2006, Liz went on to study for the Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT) qualification, becoming a member in 2010.
Liz, who works across many sectors including healthcare, leisure and agriculture said, “I am absolutely delighted to have secured the status of Chartered Tax Advisor. It’s been a challenging but very rewarding process and I’m very grateful to EQ for giving me this opportunity, and to have supported me throughout my studies. I’m now looking forward to putting my new skills into practice, working with clients on tackling the specific tax challenges they encounter throughout their business journeys, adding value, and reinforcing the team’s commitment to providing an optimum service at all times.”
David Morrison, Head of EQ Taxation commented, “We are exceptionally proud of Liz, who has shown an impressive level of commitment and enthusiasm towards her studies, and congratulate her wholeheartedly.
