CMS Invests in Fife

Tuesday 26 March 2019

CMS Window Systems, one of the largest UK companies designing, manufacturing and installing PVCu and aluminium windows, doors and curtain walling, has invested in Fife.

It recently opened its new 8,500 sq. ft. factory in Hayfield, Kirkcaldy with an investment of over half a million pounds. CMS has taken on eight new members of staff and two apprentices to manufacture PVCu, composite and fire doors at the facility.

These new posts are in addition to the current team working from its Kirkcaldy base, to deliver successful projects throughout the region. As production increases at its new factory, so will the headcount.

David Ritchie, Chief Executive Officer of CMS Window Systems, said: “We’ve invested significantly in this new facility and we’re excited about the future growth of the business. We’re manufacturing a high quantity of PVCu doors on site currently, but the plan is to develop the output and recruit more staff."

CMS’s new facility will play a key role in the production of energy efficient doors for its current contracts with a number of local authorities and housing associations, providing energy efficient windows and doors for their housing stock.

CMS also has a recycling facility alongside its new factory in Kirkcaldy, where it processes old extracted windows and doors as well as any manufacturing waste. Last year CMS diverted 100 per cent of the business’ waste from landfill.
