Cluny Activities Centre Drives Its Ambitions Forward
Wednesday 23 August 2023
Fife’s premier outdoor activity centre, Cluny Activities, based near Cluny, Kirkcaldy, has come a long way since it diversified from a farm in 1992. The Shedden family first opened it as a clay target ground and the business went on to become one of Scotland’s largest clay grounds, boasting 18 sporting stands, DTL & FITASC layouts, as well as English and Olympic Skeet ranges.
Throughout the years, other activities have been added to the business offering, from a café, golf course, golf driving range, disc golf and foot golf to archery and rifle shooting. All of these activities lie in a stunning woodland location in a site over 50 acres. Segway experiences and indoor cricket are also available to visitors, making it a unique combination of family-centred activities, in a safe location with great access and there’s enthusiasm for providing the best all round family experience in Fife.
General Manager, Callum Spence said, “We are always looking to expand our offering and bring the public something new and interesting. Getting closer to Net Zero is also an important part of our development. We are investigating the use of Solar panels to power the site and continue to recycle where we can and use the products available to us, for example, low noise shotgun ammunition and bio-degradable clay targets. It is our ambition to continue to grow and provide experiences that are extraordinary, unique to the area and ones that can be enjoyed by all.” He added, “Our Business Gateway Fife adviser, Alasdair Busby, has been very proactive when it comes to highlighting what support is available.”
Alasdair commented, “We have supported Cluny Activities for many years. Currently we are developing a new digital marketing strategy and reviewing all renewable energy possibilities to allow them to become more independent in the future. This is a fantastic business that keeps building its offering, keeping it on top of its game.”
