Peter Wood of St Andrews Wine Company has revolutionised his business by taking it online thanks to digital marketing support and advice from Business Gateway Fife.

Peter founded St Andrews Wine Company in 2012, which brings together small, family run, organic and unknown producers. As well as his shop on Bell Street, St Andrews, he’s seen a month-on-month increase in online sales following the introduction of an industry first - virtual wine tastings.

Peter, who has been helped by Business Gateway Fife, said: “Over the past year I’ve seen an average increase in sales both instore and from my website of around 15 per cent after I post my own two minute tasting videos, so firmly believe that as word spreads the live events will help sales increase further. Online is where I really envisage seeing significant growth and Business Gateway Fife has helped me maximise my website and strengthen my understanding of Search Engine Optimisation. St Andrews Wine Company’s first Facebook Live wine tasting was led by Paul Boutinot of South African producer Waterkloof Wines and received positive feedback. Viewers tuned in from as far afield as southern England and Aberdeen, and to date the video has had over 850 views.
