Business Gateway Fife has enabled one of Fife’s most unique leisure experiences to add a new dimension to its business thanks to £5000 grant funding from the Fife Investment Fund.

Adventure Golf Island, based at the Fife Leisure Park in Dunfermline, has transformed one of its 18 hole Florida style adventure golf courses with a giant inflatable dome to ensure its customers can enjoy the fantastic facilities, whatever the weather.

The giant dome, measuring in at a whopping 13,000 square feet, using 40,000 square feet of special PVC material, making it one of the biggest in the UK, will help the business to make its facilities even more desirable to clients and in doing so, reduce the impact the weather can have on its business.

Business Gateway Fife adviser, David Howie, explained “Adventure Golf Island is a fantastic facility which attracts visitors from all over Scotland, however, like many outdoor facilities, the success of the business is often susceptible to the unpredictability of the Scottish weather.”

He continued “The management team had looked at several ways in which it could give business a boost during periods of bad weather and the inflatable dome was seen as the most effective.”

Adventure Golf Island’s Managing Director, Matthew Corrie, commented, “The giant inflatable dome is a massive investment for us. We are delighted at the level of support Business Gateway Fife offered and the advice they provided in submitting our application to access funding which was pivotal in the whole process.”
