3 Bridges - A New Independent Vet Practice Launched in Fife

Fife’s newest independent Vet Practice, 3 Bridges, has opened in a brand-new purpose-built facility in Fordell Firs, near Hillend, Dunfermline, providing services and treatments for all farm animals, pets and horses.

Veterinary director, Hannah McKerrow has seven years’ experience under her belt, working as a vet in a variety of practices. With many changes happening in the veterinary industry, Hannah wanted to create a different kind of practice and working environment.  She and her team of four look after a wide range of animals and the new practice has been designed using good ideas from previous practices they have worked in.  There are separate dog and cat waiting rooms, two consulting rooms, a laboratory and a custom-built large animal facility for farm animals.  The practice also offers farm visits as well as an out of hours service. Hannah’s husband, Bruce, is also a director of the business and the other team members are Simon, a veterinary surgeon and Claire, a registered veterinary nurse. 

As a client of Business Gateway Fife, Hannah was given one to one support and advice from Business Adviser, Marissa Yassen-Fleming.  She was able to secure the business Expert Help for the practice’s website and computer systems and a Net Zero grant to install Solar Panels.

Hannah commented: “I am very grateful to Marissa for the assistance she has given me.  She was very helpful and gave us access to tremendous support for our IT systems and the Net Zero grant, which paid for Solar Panels, that tie in with our heat pumps, which in turn link to our underfloor heating and will hopefully supply all the heating required for the building. This has allowed us to focus on getting the new practice up and running and expand our client base.  It is very much our priority to ensure that clients can see their own vet in an emergency situation and that we provide continuity of care, with a personal touch, at all times, for the long term.”
