New Partner at Thomson Cooper

Thomson Cooper are delighted to announce a key appointment to their senior team, effective from 1 March, as part of the firm’s growth strategy across Scotland.

Elaine Cromwell, based at their Dunfermline office, has been promoted to the position of Partner. Elaine started with Thomson Cooper in 1990 as a trainee accountant, qualifying as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 1996. Following a three year break working in industry, Elaine re-joined the firm in 2003 before being made an Associate in 2005.

Dunfermline-based IT support company Managed IT Experts have been named Community Partner of the Year by global technology company LOGICnow for their continued contribution of knowledge, participation and industry engagement.

Locally-headquartered IT support provider Managed IT Experts snapped up the award for Community Partner of the Year, in LOGICnow’s annual awards. The accolade was awarded to Managed IT Experts for its contribution to knowledge and continued participation and engagement with the IT industry.

Office Cleaning Specialist CSG Adds To It's Company Portfolio

CSG, the office cleaning and facilities management support business, has announced it has acquired two companies.

The business, which already has operational bases in Aberdeen, Dundee and Shetland, has acquired Bridges Cleaning & Hygiene in Kirkcaldy. It follows its recent acquisition of Town and Country Cleaning in Montrose.

The deals for the two office cleaning firms add 47 people to the CSG workforce and more than 50 contracts to its operations portfolio. All staff are being retained, taking the number of people employed at the business to 421.

Fife Tops Table for Business Performance

New research reveals that Kirkcaldy is home to the best performing micro-businesses in Britain based on growth.

Kirkcaldy based, Fife Micro-businesses are out-performing their peers, with growth outstripping the likes of tech start-ups in London’s ‘Silicon Roundabout’.

Recent research by global information services company Experian has named the town home to some of the highest-performing small businesses with a turnover of less than £100,000, with 35 per cent considered to be fast-growing. This puts Kirkcaldy marginally ahead of second-place Birmingham on 34.7 per cent.
