Share Your Views - Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP)

Tuesday 2 September 2014

As you may be aware, discussions are ongoing for a potential EU/US Free Trade Agreement, known as the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP). It is estimated that an ambitious TTIP would boost total EU exports to the US by 28%, equivalent to an additional €187 billion worth of exports of EU goods and services, with sectors such as agriculture being highlighted as gaining particular benefit. Because of the levels of criticism levelled at transparency in the TTIP negotiations, the European Commission has committed to consulting citizens and businesses whenever possible.

To this end, the Commission has just opened a consultation for SMEs to share their views on any trade barriers they currently face if exporting to the US, and the answers are intended to help the Commission's negotiators get the best deal for European citizens and companies.

Please share with any SMEs, SME networks or colleagues who may be interested. The consultation can be accessed Here

The deadline is 15th December 2014.  For further details, contact Joanne Scobie, EU Officer Policy and Partnerships    Tel: +44 (0) 1307 473909    Mob: +44 (0) 7827 955116
