Fife College Hosts Barber Expo 2016

Fife College is delighted to host ‘Barber Expo 2016’- a prestigious barbering event, designed for those who are interested in pursuing a career in barbering or are looking to develop their knowledge and skills.

Barber Expo 2016 aims to give industry professionals, aspiring barbers and educators the opportunity to gain an insight into the world of modern barbering.

The event will take place at the College’s St Brycedale Campus in Kirkcaldy on Monday 14th November 2016 from 6pm to 8pm.

The event will feature a variety of guest speakers and exhibitors. This will include: Stacey McCabe, Scotland’s Best Barber 2016; Daryl Gillespie and Craig Condy, Safe Hands Barbershop; and Tony Haresign, Educator and Owner of Esquire Barbershop.

Exhibitors will be displaying a wide range of barbering and grooming products from industry leading brands such as, Wahl, Andis, Reuzel and Bonafide Pomade. The event will also feature a special guest appearance by Tariq Howes of the Men’s Hairdressing Federation Art Team and recent winner of HJ Afro Barber of the Year.  Tony Haresign is delighted to be part of the event and can’t wait to pass on some words of wisdom to those keen in progressing in such a fast growing industry.

Said Tony: “I was thrilled when I was asked to take part in such a fantastic event. This type of event doesn’t come around very often, especially with guest speakers and exhibitors of this standard, so I would encourage anyone interested to come along.”

Fiona Craig, Curriculum Manager for Hairdressing at Fife College is excited about the event and hopes those who are interested in pursuing a career in barbering will take advantage of this unique opportunity.

Said Fiona: “Barber Expo 2016 is a great opportunity for new and potential students to get their foot in the door and gain a greater understanding of various barbering techniques. We are very fortunate to have some great guest speakers and exhibitors attending who I know will not only educate but inspire.”
