FIFE BUSINESSES GET DIGITAL BOOST FOR THEIR BUSINESS

Monday 18 April 2016

Around 30 individuals and business owners based in Fife have already taken advantage of a new series of digital workshops launched earlier this year and others are being urged to sign up to the next phase of new, local training programmes.

Patricia Kean from Hedgehogs Nursery Ltd said: “The digital world is having a greater impact on how everyone does business and has the scope to open up new opportunities.  The DigitalBoost workshop programme has given me a better understanding of how digital technology can have a positive impact on my business.  I’d encourage other business owners in Fife to speak to their local BG office about the workshops and specialist one to one support.

The DigitalBoost workshops have been designed to help small to medium sized businesses improve their digital presence, understand and communicate with their customers better, improve systems processes and research and ultimately increase sales.

The events will run throughout April, May and June, covering Digitise Your Business Processes; Digital Marketing Strategy; Website Data Analytics; LinkedIn for Business and eCommerce for Business.

The free half day workshops taking place across the region include:

• Digitise Your Business Processes – 13 April, 5 May & 8 June
• Digital Marketing Strategy – 21 April, 24 May & 29 June
• Website Data Analytics – 29 April & 2 June
• LinkedIn for Business – 11 May & 14 June
• eCommerce for Business – 17 May & 24 June

As well as the local workshop programme, one to one adviser sessions with digital specialists are also available to eligible businesses that would benefit from extra support on digital topics.  Access to one to one support is by referral from a business adviser based in a local Business Gateway office.

For more information on the free workshop programme, including exact times and locations, call 01592 858333 or visit the Business Gateway national site at www.bgateway.com/events. The DigitalBoost programme enhances the existing digital workshops available from Business Gateway covering website development, online trading and social media.

The DigitalBoost Online Healthcheck, hosted on the Business Gateway website – www.bgateway.com/digitalboost - helps businesses assess their current digital position through a series of questions. The results will guide them to relevant online guides and workshops that should assist them further.

DigitalBoost has been developed by Business Gateway, Scottish Enterprise and Highland & Islands Enterprise on behalf of Digital Scotland.
