VELUX announces new Managing Director to lead its roof window operations in the UK

Roof window manufacturer VELUX® has today (Tuesday, 11 July) announced that Pedro Poole Derqui will head up its UK-wide operations. The 52-year-old has been appointed managing director and will lead a team of 250 staff across the UK and Ireland from its UK head office in Glenrothes, Fife.

Iconic Fife Brand Opens First Standalone Store

After the overwhelming success of a pop up trial, one of Fife’s best known food producers, Puddledub, is set to launch a new butchery store on Kirkcaldy’s High Street.
 
The traditional store will open on Monday 3 July and will showcase the well known pork farmed by the Mitchell family just four miles away alongside other locally produced meat, as well as cheese from leading cheesemonger IJ Mellis and local artisan breads.

Fife-based Ember Technology appointed to help develop new travel service for young Scots

Glenrothes company, Ember Technology has won the contract with a transport consortium to help develop the software for a service that aims to revolutionise travel for young people in Scotland.
The innovative application will take advantage of all available transport options in the user's locality - everything from walking, cycling, buses and trains to car and bike share schemes - alongside concessions and discounts - to provide one single, optimised transport network - without the use of a car.
