 Business Adviser Early Stage Growth

We are seeking to appoint an ambitious Business Adviser to join our successful Advisory Team here at Business Gateway Fife.  With over 9,000 businesses and a population over 300,000 we are Fife’s first stop for professional start up and business growth advice and support. The objective of the role is to join a small dedicated professional team of advisers tasked to support, encourage and advise Early Stage Growth businesses to grow sales and develop employment opportunities across all the business sectors that we support in Fife during their first eighteen months of development.

Business Gateway Fife is a not for profit organisation delivering a wide range of economic development services within Fife on behalf of Fife Council and you will have the opportunity to make a major contribution to our continued success.

As a key member of the team you will be responsible for providing advice and support to businesses in key sectors including Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, Engineering, Food Production, Tourism and Town Centres. Specifically, this role requires a keen sense of business acumen and you will have the proven ability to identify, develop and recommend strategic and operational solutions to business owners to assist with their early stage growth plans. 

For you to succeed in this role you will require a consultative approach to business engagement, you should enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, and have excellent organisational skills.  You will be a problem solver, who is self-motivated and have the ability to use your own initiative.  Attention to detail and a disciplined approach to administration is essential to accurately capture business information and to craft tailored solutions around identified constraints to business growth during the early stages of business development.

As a successful Business Adviser, you will demonstrate and be experienced in:

As a Business Adviser with Business Gateway Fife you will have the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the evolution of the organisation and to contribute to supporting the greater Fife Business Economy. The position will be based at our Head Office in Glenrothes and will require regular travel to both visit businesses across Fife and at our sub offices in Dunfermline, Kirkcaldy and Cupar.

A current driving licence and vehicle insured for business use is essential for this post.

Salary and appointment will be based upon relevant expertise and business background. We do wish to encourage applications from candidates that may feel they have the abilites to tackle this important role but may be unable to demonstrate the overall experience required. The role offers a 6% pension contribution and 37 days holiday inclusive of bank holidays.  We operate a flexible hours working environment to ensure we offer our team members the very best in professional working practices and conditions.
